Squash Court Paint

additional infoAdditional Information

Description
Duralex "Squash Court" is a professional quality water-based paint which dries to a flat finish on properly prepared interior and exterior surfaces.
Independent field testing, where squash balls were fired at test panels of various manufacturer's paints, found that Duralex "Squash Court" was noticeably superior.

USES
Especially formulated for playing area walls where high levels of adhesion and scuff/wear balance is important so that minimal marking of wall and ball occurs.

SURFACE PREPARATION
BEFORE PAINTING: Ensure surface is sound, properly prepared, thoroughly dry, dust free, clean and free of all foreign matter.

Previously Painted Surfaces
Prior to commencement of the recoating of previously painted surfaces, random tests for soundness should be conducted. Small crosses (x) should be made through the paint film using a razor blade, adhesive tape should be placed over the crosses and removed in a single motion. Should the paint film adhere to the adhesive tape the surface is deemed to be unsound.

Unsound Surfaces
After removing all loose, flaking paint and powdery deposits apply Duralex Surface Binder followed by two coats of Duralex "Squash Court".

Cement Render, Brick, Cement Blocks, Gyprock, etc.
New Unpainted - Remove all dust, contaminants etc; to remove loose sand from cement render rub with timber block and sweep clean.

New Unpainted "Tilt-Up" concrete walls are coated with invisible bond-breaker release chemicals which prevent paint adhesion if not removed. We suggest a product such as Dulux TiltWash, or similar, be used according to manfacturer's directions. As Tilt-Up bond-breaker removing chemicals as well as Sugar Soap are highly alkaline (caustic), they also have to be thoroughly rinsed off.
Apply one coat of Duralex 3 in 1 Primer Undercoat followed by two coats of Duralex "Squash Court".
Gloss surfaces must be sanded to provide a key. Prime all bare timber and rust resisting bare metals with Duralex 3 in 1 Primer Undercoat. Rust prone metals should be rendered rust resistant with a suitable primer.

APPLICATION
Stir contents thoroughly before use with a broad flat stirrer, using an upward lifting motion.
Thinning with up to 10% water may be necessary when painting highly absorbent surfaces during hot weather outside.

DRYING TIME
Normally dries in 20 minutes in a well ventilated area and may be recoated in 2 hours. Court may be played on next day. Damp, humid conditions may lengthen drying time.

COVERAGE
Coverage up to 16 square metres per Litre. Approximately 20 Litres per court, 2 coats.

CLEAN UP
Wash all equipment with clean water; dried material may be removed with methylated spirits.

WEATHER CONDITIONS
Surface temperature must be above 10°C during application and drying time. Duralex "Squash Court" must be at least two hours dry before dew, fog or rain when used outside.

CAUTION
Allow adequate ventilation when painting indoors during and after use to dissipate water vapour.

SIZES
20 Litre only.

ENVIRONMENT
Low odour. Low V.O.C. Environmentally friendly.

IMPORTANT
